The client.
I've made wedding cakes, sewn more prom/bridesmaids dresses than I care to remember, been a bookkeeper for hire, fitted every size foot (as a 5th generation owner in my family's shoe business), and worked at an amusement park consession stand (unfortunately dressed as one of Santa's elves). In all cases there was a client that cared about their purchase.
With an all night game of adventure in the 1980s I discovered the magic of the IT world and moved to clients who had purchased a product or service they didn't always understand technically, but were excited about the promised possibilities. It was a perfect place to focus my client skills - and techical tendancies.
Today, I still love the client interaction (and my techie side is always looking for process efficencies).
Ok.. there are some moments when I'm not working. In those I collect art, volunteer for the Duke of Edinburgh award program for youth accomplishment, treasure my sewing machine, and swim laps to sort out the world's problems.
